Should India adopt Dubai Model to control inflation? By:  Vijay SARDANA Around the world, inflation is a major threat to political stability in democratic countries, but it is a more serious threat to the ruling families in countries where there is no democracy. UAE's ruling family is trying its best to control inflation.  The UAE’s Ministry of Economy (MoE) has approved a new policy regarding the pricing mechanism for basic consumer goods in the country. Under this mechanism, these consumer goods are divided into two main groups. The first group consists of more than 11,000 commodities including fresh and dry milk, fresh chicken and eggs, bread, flour, sugar, salt, rice and legumes, cooking oil, mineral water and other items. Among items in this group, the supplier requires prior approval  if they desire to raise its price due to the high import costs. The prior approval must be obtained via the Ministry of Economy website through a specifically designated system for this servic

Which is the World's best system to appoint Judges for the Supreme Court & Higher Courts? It is high time India must learn from the best practices around the world in appointing judges for the higher judiciary.  It is vital to ensure that people in a highly diversified society like India must respect the views and opinions of judges , or else there will be anarchy everywhere.  This is vital. For that, the best and most respected people in the eyes of people must reach the Supreme Court and High Courts.  There are some examples you may explore more. In the UK In California: In India: After the selection of the judges, their conduct and judgements must constantly be evaluated so that the power vested in them should not deviate them from the path of justice. After all, they are also human beings and may have some human weaknesses. There are examples in the past as well. Share in your groups your comment and views.

How  Groomed 'Agniveer' can boost the “Make in India”  and “Skill India” agenda with a focus on “Zero defect and Zero effect” Manufacturing? By: Vijay SARDANA Techno-legal Expert & Advocate Supreme Court of India After 4 years of training, “Agniveer” will be ideally suitable to strengthen “Make in India”  India is on the way to becoming USD 5 trillion economy. Huge investment is required, but there is a shortage of skilled and disciplined workforce. One of the major constraints in achieving manufacturing excellence in India, which is hurting the Make in India mission is the lack of a competent workforce who can function as a strong bridge between the manufacturing shop floor and management of the business. Lack of Supervisors who can understand the role of quality and efficacy in the manufacturing process. Inadequate quality, poor service standards, poor productivity, and delayed delivery are serious issues hurting the Make in India Mission.  Agniveer can fill this gap, if

WTO using the wrong yardsticks for Global Welfare and Climate Change By  Vijay SARDANA Advocate, Supreme Court of India Techno-legal Expert in Trade Matters The purpose of any multilateral treaty is global welfare. The WTO member countries are using trade volumes and money as yardsticks for welfare in place of the number of people involved in the economic activity and their welfare. Where developed nations world is wrong in their argument? The western world, led by OECD members, does not want to accept any argument which can reduce their dominance in any international forum. The single point of their argument is to retain their economic and political dominance on the world stage.  Let me share a few live examples. Covid vaccine for profit but does not support a cap on prices: When the world is suffering from the Covid, the Western world wants to exploit the disease for commercial gains by blocking IPR so that more vaccines can be developed. Western companies are making illogical dema

The Interesting history behind Holi Festival Compiled by: Vijay Sardana Happy Holi to all of you. It is important to know and learn from our history, our culture and our value systems. Without roots and value systems no civilization and institution can survive. On the occasion of the Holi festival, this is an attempt to understand the characters behind the Holi festival. According to a story from Bhagavata Purana, Hiranyakashipu and Hiranyaksha are Vishnu's gatekeepers Jaya and Vijaya, born on earth as the result of a curse from the Four Kumara. According to Sources, the birthplace of Hiranyakashipu is Moolsthan (Present Day Multan in Pakistan). Who were the Four Kumaras?  The Kumaras are four sages (rishis) who roam the universe as children, from the Puranic texts of Hinduism, generally named Sanaka, Sanatana, Sanandana and Sanat kumara. They are described as the first mind-born creations and sons of the creator-god Brahma. Brahma, who had received the knowledge of the Pura
