Image
Proposed BRICS Action Plan for Food Security Challenges Presentation by: Vijay Sardana at  BRICS AWG, Durban It was an honur to represent my country and organisation alone and also only presentation at the dicusssion forum which was endorsed by all BRICS member countries. BRICS is a home for 42% of global population. We have only 30% of global land mass. Every one need healthy and safe food food to health. Other than human food, we have to provide feed and fodder to livestock and aquaculture sector and industrial raw material like cotton, rubber, timber, etc to other industries. Our land mass is fully exploited and in many case over used. It is high time to plan what is the future of food secuirty and how we should ensure food and feed is available to all. Per capita land is shrinking below sustainable level.   We do not have more land to produce food and feed. BRICS Nations have to think how to ensure food and feed from shrinking land mass per capita.
