Election is a time, like final match when political leadership should bring best foot forward. It is very important that as citizens we should understand the vision and priorities of our political leadership. It is very easy to promise moon, but it is useful to understand whether our leaders have vision or direction to fulfill the promises or not or these are just empty promises without any substance.  As a analyst of Public Policy and Policy  Advocacy, I have decided to read all Election Manifestos of leading political parties to understand what is there for national Food Security and how these political leadership will control and manage food inflation, the basic issue affecting every citizen and every other industry in the countr

Are we planning for Growth without Resources? Very often we have seen big plans but soon we see thing are slipping out. The reason is simple - aspirations do not match efforts. Big growth targets are fixed but no data or  supporting document about who will supply the inputs and what will the source and cost implication. Are these sources sustainable? Will Wheat become By-product Soon? Fodder Cost will decide the Cropping pattern in coming days Friends, I was in Punjab and Haryana area of India to study what is happening in the fields and how things are changing in the main agriculture belt of India i.e. Punjab and Haryana. Punjab is called the grain basket of India. The visit was very useful and informative, I met farmers, traders, brokers, processors, dealers and retailers of Agriculture and FMCG sectors.  While interviewing many dealers in FMCG segment, I learnt many things. Two things which excited me the most are: De-odourizer is one of the fastest growing category in FMCG segment in this region. T his clearly indicates growing aspirations among the youth. T he more important question is who will work in the crop fi elds and animal farms. Fodder is selling between Rs. 7 to 11 per kg. These are clear signs of what is going to be the future of Punjab and some what about India. Just
